Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

The translucent red finish is beautiful and virtually flawless, the paint job on this guitar is worth the $210 alone. The tuners stay in tune even after heavy string bending and tremelo picking.

The factory installed strings are not very good, so replace them. Also, you'll need to lower the action drastically to make this guitar playable but this isn't much of a big deal. The pickups are pretty good but the humbucker was dissapointing so you might want to replace that too.

• Solid Alder Body ( not really "solid" if you look closely, you can see the line where the wood was glued) • One-Piece Maple Neck • Rosewood Neck Stripe Diecast Machine Heads • Rosewood Fretboard • Two Tone and One Volume Control • 5-Position Pickup Selector • Bridge position humbucker • Tremelo "Whammy" bar the features aren't too bad considering what you paid for.

In a nut shell, you get what you paid for, this is no Fender Strat but for the price, it's pretty damn close.
